  • Durable

  • Struggles with high frequencies

Boss makes speakers well…like a boss. In terms of visual appearance and power handling, there are few speakers in this unit’s price bracket that can match its performance. In this article, we take a closer look at the incredible BOSS CH6530 car speakers. Let's go!

Introducing the Boss CH6530 Car Speakers

Given the intuitive design and power handling capabilities that this set of speakers can claim, the Boss CH6530 represents an excellent opportunity for people who are looking to get a good set of speakers without spending all of their money.

Friendly to most budgets, and surprisingly robust given the price range, this unit has distinguished itself through some impressive features that we will now highlight for your benefit.

Poly Cone for Durability

The polymer that is used to make the cone on this unit is an affordable but durable option that is sure to last a long time and help produce decent audio output. Why should this be important to you? The polymer is working for you two-fold here. For one thing, it is part of the reason why this unit is so inexpensive.

On the other hand, it also contributes to this speaker’s ability to endure some physical wear and tear which will help it last longer.

Foam-upgrades for Long-lasting Speakers

Like the polymer cone that we just looked at, the foam component on this unit has also has benefitted from something of an upgrade. It features pretty high-caliber materials that boast a life expectancy of around 8-16 years. As a result, you can count on your speakers lasting for a long time if you use them correctly.

Affordable without Compromises

The price of this unit is probably going to be what attracts most people to it in the first place. These speakers are incredibly affordable, and for that reason, they are something to consider if you are on a tight budget.

Pros and Cons

Now that you know a lot about these speakers here are a few pros and cons that will help to inform your buying decision further.

  • The audio quality is good for a unit priced this cheap
  • It is very affordable – you get a lot for your money
  • The foam-upgrade and poly cone improves durability remarkably

  • Unfortunately, the audio quality here isn’t the best, especially compared to higher end units. It’s not bad, but if you are an audio aficionado, it probably isn’t going to live up to your standard.

What You are Getting For Your Money

The package comes with two speakers and the necessary components for a standard installation. It’s a pretty standard offering, but it is of course also lovely to see.

A Closer look at the Boss CH6530

One of the first things that will draw you to this set of speakers is undoubtedly the price. As I have mentioned a few times throughout this article, you aren’t going to find many deals out there that can beat the savings you get with this set.

It also works well.  This isn’t Boss’ highest end product (the price tag makes that fairly obvious) but considering the performance of these speakers relative to that of other comparable products in similar price brackets, and you are looking at a set of speakers with few rivals.

It’s not perfect—no speakers, no products, for that matter, are. If you are looking for the best possible audio and price is genuinely no factor then I’m going to go ahead and say that this set of speakers probably is not what you are looking for.

If, on the other hand, you value a good deal and don’t mind making a few (relatively) small concessions, these speakers are a great bargain option that would be hard to beat.

The verdict of the Boss CH6530 Speakers

We’ve talked pretty extensively by now about what makes the Boss CH6530 special. Much of the focus has been on the price. You’ve seen plenty of phrases like “relative to this unit’s price bracket; it excels at…..” What does that mean when you boil it all down?

It means that these speakers do have some flaws and that their weaknesses can be explained away by how much they cost. It’s pretty straightforward but also very important to the buying consideration.

We like the design. We want the power. We love the price. All that said though, it would be nice to have seen higher audio quality. It would be beneficial if the speakers could make a little bit more of their power, and maintain crystal clear output even when you crank up the volume.

Since that is not what we see here, the Boss CH6530 receives a score of a 3.7 / 5. They make a tremendous budget-friendly option, and they are excellent for replacing a blown-out factory stock speaker but if you are looking for more than that you may want to keep looking.
